The sad and unfair side of the rush to force equality of outcome into the professional professions and into the workplace in general is that we will never know what we are losing by forcing less qualified people into jobs. What scientific discovery will go undiscovered, what academic theory will go unexplored as a result of a desire to punish white men for their achievements? And the unfair mirror side of forcing non white men into professional and academic positions is that any ethnic job occupant is looked at with not a little suspicion. Did they get this job because they are the best qualified or did they get it because they are the right colour, the right gender, the right race…
I'm awaiting the transcript of this interview...hence I haven't read it yet. But:
71% of all Canadian independent businesses are owned by whites
26% of same are owned by visible minorities
2.6% are owned by indigenous people

Given that almost 3 out of 4 owners are white--and employers--I'm going to be interested in a rationale that paints them as "shut out" and "rooted against".
Thanks. That is the arguement. For a whiteman to progress you do it yourself. You are a self-employed electrician, plumber or gas fitter. You “might” get freelance writing to augment a podcast if you cling to journalism. If you are a white male and think your 4.0 GPA heavily loaded undergraduate science degree will get you in a medical degree program at Toronto Metropolitan University dream on! Call it anti-white male agenda (unless you are Gay). I always like to use veterinarians as my example. A vocation once dominated by men was 80-20 men in the early 70's. It is now 64% women and enrollment data has it heading to 80% by 2035.
If Democrats could just be sensible they could be a landslide winning alternative to Trump. But out of the limelight and obscured by Trumps increasingly crazy pronouncements, they have totally backslid into the morass of toxic 2020 era identity politics. (Case in point: The latest debate on the left is whether using “Say Her Name” in reference to Renee Good is “cultural appropriation” from black victims of police violence) So in 2028 against JD Vance or Marco Rubio we are going to get some terrible Dem candidate whose main qualification will be checking some identity boxes.
A very thoughtful interview, as usual… As a biological psychologist, I am completely mystified by the way people treat each other. It seems to me, all the jargon and theorizing aside, we would all be better off guided by thoughtfulness, compassion, and rationality. I guess that I am hopelessly out of touch with reality. Having said that, what I observe among working class people is that these issues are not issues. This is an issue for the Academic, Media, and Managerial Class where status, not getting the job done matters. People who make things, and do things for a living focus on who you are, not what you are. If you bake a good cake, no one cares what your race, or gender is, they buy the cake because it is good. (The Gay Mexican Guys make great salsa, the elegant Pakistani woman is an amazing cookie baker, and the white Venezuelan woman can't make enough of those bun logs, and yes the white father/son are cleaning out on the Bali food.)
This is a Pandora's box that should never have existed in the first place. It is fitting that this episode is presented just as Scott Adams dies. He was one of the first to recount how he was twice turned down for promotion because he was white about thirty or more years ago. He was met with disbelief that this was so because the Pandora's box was not allowed to be acknowledged. I am glad the box has been opened and that once again merit is rising to the top. So many years of divisive identity politics finally crumbling.
