It is interesting to learn that the new CEO of CBC has not addressed the issue that huge bonuses have been paid to those employed at the upper levels of the broadcaster, who already receive a high salary. Could it be that she has enjoyed the bonuses she has received in the past and hopes to receive more in the future? Many Canadians are struggling to buy food and find affordable housing right now. The decision to give huge bonuses to CBC employees who already have a high salary ( in some cases more than

$ 500,000 per year) and do not face the same challenges as their fellow Canadians, is misguided and out of touch. Public money would be better spent supporting Canadians who need a hand up right now, not on making the financially secure more wealthy with hand outs, called bonuses.

wow, some actual Canadian content I found interesting :) That was a pretty good episode. I like a bit of structure in podcasts like this one had. Keep it on track, not too much chit-chat/personal details stuff. Some of the more free form ones like "The Line" meander a bit too much and have too much personal life chatter. I hope you continue to build your media empire Tara! You bring a sincerity and level headedness that is in short supply.

Solid format, Tara. I like the down-to-earth tone and honest sound. You might be starting a new trend; something severly lacking in MSM and especially at the CBC. As for them changing, the leopard does not change the spots :)

Typical spiel from the latest DEI hire of a state sponsored propaganda outfit.

The Liberal Party's mouthpiece.

The CBC has proven themselves not to be trustworthy. Expensive and irrelevant.

Great conversation. Does Full Press have its own podcast feed or it just on the “Hub Podcasts” feed?

Great conversation! We need more of these.

As much as I sometimes want to tear down and defund the CBC, I can also remember the days when we could rely on them (and others like CTV) for good quality journalism. I always enjoyed the Fifth Estate, and listening to Rodney Palmer testifying before the National Citizens Inquiry made me even more nostalgic. I want those days back. But, it will be incredibly hard as journalism schools have already 'tainted the well' even before they reach the CBC. But, I still have hope.

One program that I love to watch is Rising as they try to cover all the political spectrums (Dem, GOP and Libertarian (Robby is my favorite :-) ) I would love to see a model like that at the CBC. But, not just anyone. I want independent journalists, like yourself, given proper air time. And, can you imagine seeing David Menzies on a CBC panel, lol. I would happily have my taxes go towards something like that.

And, to bring in even more transparency, maybe even a community notes section, X style. Those sections regularly do a better fact checking job than some University educated 20'something that has never had to deal with opposing viewpoints.

For what it's worth, I wouldn't recognize PBS with your Daffodils. Most of their work is far left and, in my opinion, compromised.

I am glad to hear the conversation.

Language is important. Using language that people understand and relate to is important. This is why free speech is important. It is also important to be actual "truth tellers", not just "virtue signal". Even worse, when people watch media left & right virtue signaling they seem to loose their critical thinking skills.

This is true on the left and the right. It is true for anyone who puts ideology above principles.

Recently Zero Hedge made fun of the left by showing a woman in Oregon going nuts calling a man wearing a Hat from Corbella's with an American flag along with ducks & deer a racist &*&#. She made a complete fool of herself because of how she viewed the man simply because of his hat. Every time the left does this (especially the left media) they open themselves up to being mocked.

On the right, they put everyone who supports the Palestinians in the same box, and in so doing so show that they have no coherent view of the world. So if you support "Property Rights" you have to support the "Property Rights" of everyone including Palestinians. If you support "free speech" you need to support the "free speech" of Palestinians and anyone else you don't like. If your religion says "thou shalt not steal" then stealing from Palestinians is wrong.
