Thanks again for a relevant interview. Gary said something that hit a nerve with me, which is the issue of funding of research. No funder is going to fund research that goes against their beliefs and interests. Which means that the research being done is always with the Overton Window of what is acceptable. When a researcher wants to research outside the Window, no moneys to be found.

Like Gary, I have no solution to the issue but know that it has to addressed somehow.

On a related issue to Obesity, I am seeing a lot of speculation about soil health & nutrition. I see on a daily basis fruits and vegetables becoming tasteless & having longer self life. People are connecting the nutrition in our food, industrial farming, processed foods, and obesity. Makes sense to me, but proving the hypothesis would require a lot of $$$. Not the same hypothesis as the one around Carbohydrates, Diabetes, and Obesity, but related. Needs to be investigated and doing so will be extremely difficult as there are 1000's of sub factors in this that could themselves be issues.

I am choosing to believe that the best diet is the diet my Grandparents had, because that was what my ancestors evolved to eat.
