Finally had a listen. This is much more common than is broadcast generally I would say. Studies I read coming out of the US indicated 2 things that are echoed in this interview - 1) Male victims are consistently seen as less sympathetic. 2) Men generally don't talk about it because generally they aren't heard.

In the end - this IS a human challenge flavored by gender - at least from my POV and the POV of my clients.

Thanks Tara, I must have missed this the first time around.

My response, is to observe what is missing is an acknowledgement of Human Nature.

I am going to link to an episode of the Duran talking about Liberalism in Russia. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mqkxbdv4sbI

Humans find very easy to tolerant and open minded when they are in the "catbird seat". When we are under threat, especially when elites who have had it easy, or for oppressed people who see no hope, tolerance, openness, and traditional liberal values disappear quickly when threatened.

This is the human story, and should be of no surprise. For Feminism it is a surprise, but that is because this particular ideology had been bought into by a group of educated women who saw themselves as superior and not subject to the same follies as "capitalist white males".

Unfortunately for them, they are just as human as the rest of us.

A more balanced approach is one that acknowledges the humanity in everyone, and is focused on creating a healthy society & environment for all. (a big challenge) This requires humility and respect for the place of everyone in society. It requires acknowledging that everyone's contribution is important. This makes sense to the working classes. It does not, and never has made sense to elites. Elites become focused on maintaining power, status and the time honored way to do this divide & conquer. In other words by pitting groups in society against each other, they are able to maintain control. Much of what feminism calls the "patriarchy" was the result of elite manipulation to keep their own station intact.
