Impressive how you navigate such a difficult issue where i can learn and you do it with such sensitivity. Spectacular. Thank you for asking the debate question. It's rather obvious that treatment is the pathway out of addiction. Giving people a safe supply builds long term dependence, well it lasts only as long as someone is nearby with naloxone. Safe supply has the massive risk of growing the customer base. Why is this so difficult to understand?

I have two boys and they are two years apart. Like Scott, the boys at times seem to come from different planets. It is a remarkable emotional ride and we have been lucky to keep our boys from the scourage of addiction. Anyone with children today in neighborhoods where governemt is providing safe supply and encouragiing safe injection, the risk for addiction is going way up.

I first heard Bruce's story through Darcy. Ten years ago Darcy Oake was on Britain's Got Talent. His audition for the show was stunning. The loss of his brother was part of his back story and in a follow up performance he made an emotional tribute during one of his performances. Breathtaking. I had no idea at the time there was a connection to Scott Oake, "the Hockey Night in Canada" guy. When i did make the connection it really made the loss feel personal.
