I read The Class and loved it. Chris Hedges sometimes manages to rub me the wrong way somehow, but in terms of integrity, bearing honest witness to the world, he is the real deal.
Chris Hedges has a program on RT called 'On Contact' which I have watched many times. This interview about 'The Class' was interesting. To hear Chris talk about his experience and the prisoners experiences was heartening. Many incarcerated have not had the chance of education because of the circumstances in their lives. Experiencing this type of interaction while incarcerated they learn they are smart. The ones who can continue with further education in prison can then, if released, go on to be helpful in society. Thank you Tara for speaking with Chris about this.
So glad I listened. I immediately started listening to Hedges’ audio book and was deeply moved. I felt anger at the injustice that happens in the justice system and the lack of anything exemplifying restoration. But the people we met through his writing bring hope, too, breaking down stereotypical images and showing us how the human spirit can be nurtured even in harsh circumstances. Thank you for introducing me to Hedges’ work.

Wow. That was great! Thank you.
Hi Tara. Love your content. Would you consider interviewing John Ralston Saul?
Yes. Please do. Ask him about his mentor, Maurice Strong who also mentored Klaus.
