The N.S. Lyons piece was stunning and still resonating with me several days after consuming it. I see spirituality (a belief in something higher than life that explains things about life that are inexplicable) as a human need. I see our extensional crisis as being connected to that need not being met.
"And that if willing to submit to this reality one can easily reach out and touch it, live in it, experience love in it".
This is what the Gnostics believed before they went underground in the 4th century. My own journey with anxiety has led me to mythology (thanks Jordan Peterson!) and onto a re-engagement with spirituality to find meaning in life.

A spiritual crisis? Absolutely it is.
